Game Day Nachos

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Total Time 12 minutes
Servings 2 people

  • 5 oz. restaurant style tortilla chips about 1/2 bag
  • 4 tbsp. salsa sauce your choice hot or not
  • 2 slice bacon cooked and chopped
  • 2 tbsp. ripe olives sliced
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • 3 oz. Mexican blend cheese grated

  1. Use a microwave safe dish (disposable works fine).  Lay down a single layer of tortilla chips.  Sprinkle half the salsa evenly onto the chips.  Next, sprinkle half each of the bacon, olives, and green onions on top.

  2. Spread half the cheese over the top.  Add a second layer of tortilla chips and repeat with the remaining ingredients.  Cover loosely with waxed paper and microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes depending on your microwave oven.  Serve immediately with sour cream for dipping.

Recipe Notes

Did you Know:  A school in Texas holds the record for the largest plate of nachos in the world.  It weighed in at 4689 pounds and 2200 pounds of that was nacho cheese alone.  Servings of this 80 foot creation were sold for $1.00 each as a fundraiser for charity.  I wonder what game they were watching.
