Lazy Man’s Cabbage Rolls

Lazy Man's Cabbage Rolls

  • 1 small head green cabbage
  • 1/2 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup (10.75 oz.)
  • 1 can water
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Chop half of the cabbage into 1-2 inch pieces and layer it in the bottom of a 2 qt. casserole dish.  Salt and pepper to taste.  Layer the macaroni on top of the cabbage.

  3. In a large skillet scramble fry the ground beef along with the onion and salt, pepper, and garlic powder.  Cook until no more pink shows. 

  4. Drain off the excess fat and layer the meat mixture over the cabbage and macaroni.

  5. Chop the rest of the cabbage and spread it over the meat mixture.  Salt and pepper to taste.  Whisk the tomato soup and water together in a medium bowl.  Pour evenly over the cabbage, cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours. 

Recipe Notes

Serve this up with a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese.
