A super easy and super tasty Apple Crisp recipe.
Easy Recipe Apple Crisp
- 4 or 5 large cooking apples I like Fuji or Honeycrisp for this recipe
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter softened
Preheat oven to 375° F. Grease up a 9" inch square pan with cooking spray. Peel and slice up half the apples into the square pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Add remaining sliced apples on top.
For the topping blend together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium sized mixing bowl.
When the topping ingredients are well mixed together, blend in the softened butter using a pastry cutter.
Pour the topping over the apples and spread it out evenly so as to cover all the sliced apples.
Bake the apple crisp for 30 minutes or until the topping is nicely browned. Let the crisp cool at room temperature for about a half hour before serving. This will give you enough time to go to the store and pick up a half gallon of salted caramel ice cream to go with the apple crisp.
