Servings 2 people

  • 1 1/2 lbs. beef short ribs
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic chopped
  • 1 med. onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp. worchestershire sauce
  • 8 oz. beer room temperature

  1. Sprinkle the ribs with salt and pepper.  Dredge the ribs on all sides in the flour and shake off excess.

  2. Preheat oven to 325°.  Using a 12 inch skillet, brown the ribs on all sides in hot oil over medium heat.  Place ribs in a small roasting pan.

  3. Saute the onion and garlic for 1 minute in the leftover drippings.  pour over the ribs in the roaster.

  4. Pour the beef stock, beer and worchestershire  into the pan and heat to boiling.  Pour over the ribs.  Cover the roasting pan and bake for 2 hours.

Recipe Notes

Spoon a little of the sauce from the roaster over the ribs and serve with garlic mashed potatoes.

Did you know:  A 3 ounce serving of beef has about as much iron as 3 cups of raw spinach.  Gimme the beef.
