Baked Cabbage Wedges


Good side for most chicken or pork dishes.

Baked Cabbage Wedges

Servings 4 servings


  • 1/2 medium green cabbage
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil extra virgin
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. fresh ground pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.  Cut half a cabbage head into 1 inch wedges.  Brush or drizzle each side with the oil and arrange the wedges on a foil lined cookie sheet.  Sprinkle each piece with the pepper flakes, garlic powder salt and pepper.

  2. Bake the wedges for 10 minutes,  turn them over and bake an additional 10 minutes.  Serve immediately.

Did you know:  The largest cabbage ever recorded is credited to William Collingwood of County Durham, England in 1865.  His prized cabbage weighed in at 123 pounds.  Now that would make some big wedges.
