Parmesan Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Good side dish for pork or chicken recipes.

Parmesan Roasted Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 lb. brussels sprouts
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil extra virgin or extra light
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese or romano
  • 2 tbsp. fine bread crumbs


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.  Rinse the brussels sprouts and paper towel dry.  Cut the stems off and remove any excess leaves.  Cut the sprouts in half lengthwise (top to bottom) and place in a medium sized mixing bowl.  Sprinkle them with the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.  Add the olive oil and lightly toss until well coated.  Finally add the bread crumbs and parmesan and toss again until all the sprouts are nicely coated.

  2. Prepare a large cookie sheet with a generous coating of non stick spray.  Spread the brussels sprouts evenly onto the cookie sheet.

  3. Bake the brussels sprouts in the middle of the oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until they are a nice golden brown.

  4. Serve immediately with your go to pork or chicken recipe.

Recipe Notes

We really enjoy these brussels sprouts with breaded pork chops.

Did you know:  Overcooking brussels sprouts makes them smell like rotten eggs due to the high levels of sulforaphane they contain.  However, done right, they can taste sweet and nutty and delicious.  So don't overcook your brussels sprouts because everyone will know.
