Tortilla Pizza

Tortilla Pizza

Building your own personal size pizzas has never been easier. Forget the $1.50 per topping that your local pizzeria charges, you're in control now. Great for family pizza night because everyone gets to choose their own toppings.

Course Lunch, Main Course
Cuisine American
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 6 minutes
Servings 2 personal pizzas

  • 2 8" flour tortillas (or 10 inch)
  • 1/3 cup pizza or pasta sauce about 6 tbsp. divided
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella divided
  • toppings of your choice

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F with oven rack in middle position. Place the soft tortillas on a medium sized baking sheet and spread the sauce evenly over the top of each one to about a 1/2 inch from the edge.

  2. Cover the sauce with 1/2 of the shredded mozzarella.

  3. Place your toppings evenly over the cheese. When I made these I used precooked Italian sausage and bacon bits, diced green peppers, and sliced mushrooms.

  4. Top the tortilla pizzas off with the remaining shredded mozzarella.

  5. Bake in preheated oven for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool a minute or two before slicing. Repeat as required until everyone is pizza'd out.

Recipe Notes

Did you know: Americans eat approximately 100 acres of pizza a day or about 350 slices per second.  That's why there are approximately 61,269 pizzerias in the United States.  Congratulations, we just made it 61,270.
