Your salmon just acquired a new B.F.F.
Grilled Salmon With Zesty Dill Sauce
Adding a little prepared horseradish to your basic creamy dill sauce gives it just enough punch to make it taste awesome. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it would be great with tuna or mahi mahi as well.
- 12 oz. salmon (2 pieces)
- 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
- pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 2 green onions (shallots) chopped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish
- 1/2 tbsp. chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 fresh lemon wedged for garnish
Prepare grill to medium heat and give the racks a good coat of no stick cooking spray. Sprinkle the salmon fillets with the lemon pepper and salt.
Lightly grill the salmon fillets about 2 minutes per side. Remove from the grill to an oven safe serving platter and keep warm in a 200° F oven.
Melt the butter in a medium sized skillet. Add the chopped shallots and saute for 1 minute. Add the heavy cream and heat until it begins to thicken. Finally add the lemon juice, horseradish, and fresh dill and heat for another minute. Remove the salmon from the oven, spoon the sauce over the fillets and serve immediately.
Did you know: Typically, salmon are anadromous, meaning they hatch in fresh water, migrate to the ocean, then return to fresh water to reproduce. The journey made by those salmon that survive this quest to reproduce is one of nature’s greatest triumphs.
