These Grilled Salmon Fillets will melt in your mouth.
Marinated Salmon Fillets
- 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. salmon fillets around 2 inches wide
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetagle oil or extra light olive oil
Sprinkle the salmon fillets with the garlic powder, salt and lemon pepper and set aside.
In a medium sized mixing bowl whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, water, and oil.
Place the salmon in a 1 gal. size resealable freezer/storage bag. Pour the marinade in, seal the bag, and swish it around until fillets are well coated. Refrigerate for a minimum of two hours and turn the salmon over at the halfway point.
Prepare your grill to medium high heat and make sure the grates are well oiled. Grill the salmon for approximately 7 minutes per side. Try not to overcook it. The salmon should flake with a fork when it's done.
This salmon recipe is also suitable for baking. If you choose to do so, bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 20 minutes. You can either wrap them in foil or use a baking sheet. Either way, they go very nicely with rice and baked zucchini wedges.
Did you now: The salmon's uncanny ability to return to the exact stream where it was born is astonishing. It is believed they can do this from olfactory memory. Simply put, they can remember the smell of "home".
